With this year coming to an end, it's time to bring out the big guns and reveal our plans for 2025. Did you really think we'd let the year end with a lonely firecracker?
Closing the door to 2024 to open a new door to a creative new year.
To celebrate our first year anniversary at Writing Buddies' (discord server), we are happy to announce that we'll open three fun events to participate in, whether as a writer or a reader.
First event: A Throwback Monthly Prompt
We're writing throwback/flashback OR New Year's centered short stories this month! (Bonus points if you combine the elements) Genre, characters, place is all up to you!
Rules: 2k word limit, must feature at least one element.
DM Google docs submission, with content warnings if applicable, to Sage or Jenn by Dec 31. (Be sure to join the server to participate).
Submissions will be posted in the website after the reading event.
Second event: Radiant Reads
Radiant Reads is a series of blogs divided into different categories. Summing it up, it's still all about books!
Unpopular Opinion: Let's Read - Is a recommendation blog, sharing my thoughts for discussion as to what the book is about. I will try to separate spoiler content from non-spoiler ones.
Uncover books by their cover - I will share books I added to my TBR because of their cover and read them without checking the plot. This ought to be fun!
Unearth classic reads - Can't go wrong with going back to discover books of the past.
Unwrap monthly reads - A collection of book suggestions from books I've read that month/month before or just a collection of books.
Last but not the least, Arc sign ups from our affiliated writers (whether they went for self-pub or trad-pub route). You will receive copies / invitations first!
Third Event: Opening 2 arc reads on January 2025
As you've probably read from our latest newsletter, we will be opening arc read sign ups for two books.
On the red corner, Jessi Tayylor's debut novel Morning Light is now available.
Zombies, survival aaaand mystery? This is the perfect read for you!
For writers who wants to know more about the path Jessi Tayylor took to publish her debut novel, this is a summarized account of her two-year journey, that you may be interested to explore.
Slots will open on January 2 for those who are subscribed to our newsletter. Check your emails on that date!
Remaining slots will open to the mass on January 6.
